Madison City Lake Rules and Regulations

Hunting

1. Hunting at the City Lake is prohibited at all times.

 

Fishing

1. It is unlawful to fish without first obtaining a proper State of Kansas fishing license. All fishing is 
    subject to the rules and regulations of the State of Kansas, Wildlife and Parks.

2. The use of carp for bait is prohibited. No minnow buckets shall be emptied on the lake.

3. Channel catfish and flat-head catfish: 5 fish daily creel limit
    Crappie: 50 fish daily limit
    Large mouth bass: 13"-18" slot limit, 5 fish daily creel limit
    Saugeye/Walleye: 15" slot limit, 5 fish daily creel limit

 

Swimming

1. The designated swimming area is in the south cove, south of the boat dock area. The exact
    location is marked by buoys. No fishing is permitted in this area. No minor under 14 years of age
    shall be permitted to swim in the lake unless accompanied by an adult.

2. Swimming or wading is restricted to the designated area. Persons swimming in the lake do so 
    entirely at their own risk. No lifeguard is on-duty.
