Madison Lions Club

The Madison Lions Club is affiliated with the Kansas State Lions and Lions International.

The Mission Statement: "To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation."

The Lions Motto: "We Serve"

The Madison Lions Club is involved in many activities locally, including scholarships to MHS graduating seniors, providing gifts for the annual Christmas Angel Tree, supporting donations to the Veterans Honor Flight, cooking pancakes for the "Breakfast with Santa", sponsoring the annual Fall Fest and Madison Days activities, volunteer ticket-takers for MHS football games, sponsoring measles shots around the world, sponsoring Lions band students, and a host of other activities.  One of the main goals of the Lions all over the world is sight testing, referrals for those needing glasses and paying for those exams and glasses when necessary.  The Lions collect used eyeglasses, sending them for sorting and distribution to third world countries in need.

The Madison Club has 23 members.  They host three main fundraisers:  The Annual Fish Fry in the fall for funds used towards community improvements (the park, a disc golf course, helping finance the "Madison" stone signs), the Annual Pancake Day in February and those funds are directed to scholarships, and the Annual Community Calendar sales in the summer, where proceeds go to support various activities and donations throughout the year.

The Club meets September through May on the second and fourth Mondays, 6:45 PM at the United Methodist Church.

Current officers:  President Lynn Meyer, Vice-President Greg Davis, and Secretary/Treasurer Mary Meyer
